Overnight oats with strawberries (Print Version)

Creamy oats combined with fresh strawberries and crunchy candied walnuts for a wholesome start to your morning.

# What You'll Need:

→ Oat Base

01 - 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
02 - 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
03 - 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
04 - 2 tablespoons chia seeds
05 - 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
06 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - Pinch of sea salt

→ Strawberries

08 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

→ Candied Walnuts

09 - 1/2 cup walnut halves
10 - 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
11 - 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
12 - Pinch of cinnamon
13 - Small pinch of sea salt

# How to Make It:

01 - In a medium bowl or mason jar, combine rolled oats, almond milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir thoroughly until well combined. Cover and refrigerate overnight for at least 6 hours.
02 - Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Add walnut halves, maple syrup, coconut oil, cinnamon, and salt. Stir constantly for 3 to 4 minutes until walnuts are evenly coated and fragrant. Transfer to parchment paper and allow to cool completely until hardened.
03 - Remove oat mixture from refrigerator and stir well. Layer the oat base, fresh sliced strawberries, and candied walnuts into serving jars or bowls. Top with additional berries or a light drizzle of maple syrup if desired.
04 - Serve chilled immediately and enjoy as a complete breakfast.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • Zero morning cooking means you can actually sit down and breathe before rushing out the door.
  • The contrast between creamy oats and crunchy candied walnuts hits different when you're half-asleep but craving something real.
02 -
  • If you forget to stir the walnuts constantly, they'll go from candied to burnt in about thirty seconds—keep your eyes on them and your spoon moving.
  • The oats will thicken as they sit, so if you're making this four hours ahead instead of overnight, use slightly more milk or you'll end up with oatmeal instead of creamy overnight oats.
03 -
  • Use mason jars for overnight oats and you can eat straight from the jar or pour into a bowl—both feel equally elegant and require minimal cleanup.
  • Make the candied walnuts the night before and store them in an airtight container so you're not cooking anything in the morning and your kitchen stays calm.
